The Power of Gratitude: How it Boosts Your Self-Esteem

April 22, 20245 min read

Oftentimes, you might hear the word "gratitude," particularly when it comes to well-being topics or self-improvement. It is the practice of intentionally focusing on the good in your life, whether that’s your relationships, your health, your accomplishments, or simply the beauty of the natural world around you. But how often do you use it inwardly?

Many people still say that they feel like they’re just going through the motions of life without really feeling fulfilled or happy. Some say their lives are empty, with no accomplishments in their state. Nah! it's not true. You need to see it and be aware of the things around you.

I've been through my worst and experienced different things in life. I also admit that I was rebellious in the past. I decide to take out the rocks in my bag. Really, practicing gratitude is the key to unlocking a happier and more confident version of yourself.

Gratitude is a positive emotion that involves acknowledging and appreciating the good things in one's life. It's about recognizing the positive aspects of your life and being thankful for them. Practicing gratitude has been linked to a range of positive health benefits, including improved sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, increased happiness and life satisfaction, and even a stronger immune system.

I felt sorry every time I saw people still seeing themselves as a mistake, a problem, and just telling them that it was always their fault. No one is perfect in this society we are in; it's just that they know how to see positivity in every mistake, challenge, and problem. But NOW I don’t feel sorry for them. I believe that they are at a place in their lives where they will have a breakthrough and begin to embark upon a journey of healing. I have been with many clients that struggle in this aspect. When the problems hit them, they become stuck to it and affect them entirely. But I also have witnessed the breakthrough when they released the story.

Power of Gratitude

The practice of gratitude helps shift your focus away from negativity and towards positivity.

It helps to appreciate the present moment and to recognize the good things in your life, even when things are not going well, yes, definitely it is. It can also help to cultivate a more positive attitude towards yourself and the universe, which can lead to increased self-esteem and confidence. You become more confident, courageous, and resilient in the face of life's challenges ("Trust Life" by Louise Hay).

So now, how will you transition to becoming grateful so you can uplift yourself?
